How the SRD R370 Grant Payment Works
The payment of the SASSA SRD Grant payment is not fixed the are no specific dates, that is because they must do a beneficiary financial assessment where they check whether you started receiving any income in this particular month or any government financial assistance (i.e. NSFAS or UIF)
Payment for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant occurs weeks after the permanent Social Grant has been paid (i.e. child grant, old age grant and disability grant) these grants will never be paid at the same time.
SASSA will update the SRD payment status outcome at the end of the 3rd week of the particular month and payment will occur the following week, so beneficiaries must know that patience is important when it comes to the R370 grant.
Please keep in mind the following information: During the 3rd week of the month, SASSA will review the statuses of the SRD grant applicants for 7 days. After this review, the payment process will take 3 additional days to occur. Unlike the permanent social grant payment (i.e. child support, old age or disability grant), SRD grant payments may occur on weekends or holidays. Therefore, when checking your SRD grant status, it’s important to consider this possibility.
